TV mounting in Burnaby, Done Properly

Most things in a home end up on a wall eventually: the TV, a row of shelves, a heavy mirror, curtain rods, blinds, a coat rack by the door. Getting them up is easy. Getting them up level, at the right height and anchored so they stay there is the part that needs the right tools and a little experience.

We mount TVs and install the everyday hardware that makes a place feel finished, in condos, townhouses and houses across Burnaby. We find studs or use the right anchor for the wall, hang it straight, and leave no mess behind. Bring us the whole list of things to hang and we’ll do them in one visit.

The Right Anchor for the Right Wall

What holds a TV safely depends on what’s behind the paint. Wood studs take lag screws. Steel studs, which are common in newer Burnaby condo towers, need different hardware. Concrete walls need masonry anchors and a hammer drill. Hollow drywall alone is fine for light art and wrong for anything heavy.

We check the wall first with a stud finder and a small test hole where needed, then choose fasteners rated for the load. For shelves, we ask what will sit on them, because a row of books weighs far more than a few plants.

Wall Types We Mount On

Burnaby has every kind of wall, from 1950s plaster to new concrete towers. Here’s what each one needs.

Drywall on wood studs
Most houses and townhouses. TVs and shelves go into the studs.
Drywall on steel studs
Common in newer condos. Needs hardware made for steel framing.
Concrete
Many tower walls and columns. Masonry anchors and a hammer drill, with the building’s permission.
Plaster and lath
Older Burnaby houses. Drilled carefully to avoid cracking, anchored to the framing.
Tile
Bathrooms. Drilled with tile bits at the joints where possible, then sealed.

Grab Bars and Safety Installs for Burnaby Families

A grab bar beside the tub or toilet is one of the simplest ways to make a bathroom safer for an older parent, someone recovering from surgery, or anyone who wants a steady hand on a wet floor. It only works if it’s fastened into solid backing, so we find the framing or add backing where we can.

We also install stair handrails, hallway night-light hooks, child-safety gates and furniture tip-over straps. Many Burnaby families book these together with a few other small jobs in the same visit.

Add to the same visit

  • Anchor tall furniture to the wall while we’re there
  • Patch old holes from the previous mount
  • Assemble the media console the TV sits above

FAQ

TV Mounting & Installations: Questions

Can you mount a TV on a concrete wall in my condo?

Yes, with the right anchors and a hammer drill. Drilling concrete is loud, so we check your building’s rules on noise and working hours first, and some buildings ask owners to get permission before drilling. Your property manager can tell you.

Do you hide the TV cables inside the wall?

We tidy cables neatly with a surface cable channel painted to match the wall. We don’t do electrical, gas or plumbing work. Those trades need a licensed specialist, and we’re happy to tell you when a job on your list needs one.

Do I need to buy the TV bracket?

You can, or we can tell you which type fits your TV and wall before the visit. Check the bracket is rated for your TV’s size and weight.

Can you hang a heavy mirror or headboard?

Yes. Heavy items go into studs or onto French cleats and hardware rated for the weight, never just drywall anchors.
