Deck boards and steps
Soft, split or cupped boards replaced, steps firmed up and loose fasteners reset.
Deck, fence & outside
Soft deck boards, wobbly railings, leaning fence panels and gaps where the rain gets in, fixed before they get worse.

Burnaby’s wet season is hard on anything made of wood. Months of rain soften deck boards, loosen railings, rot the bottoms of fence posts and swell gates so they won’t close. Old caulk around tubs and windows cracks and lets water in. Small problems turn into big ones when they’re left another winter.
We repair decks, fences, gates and the small exterior details that keep water out, at houses and townhouses across Burnaby. We replace damaged boards and pickets, firm up railings and steps, reset or replace fence panels, fix gates, and redo weatherstripping and caulking inside and out.
What’s included
Soft, split or cupped boards replaced, steps firmed up and loose fasteners reset.
Wobbly railings re-secured and damaged balusters or caps replaced.
Broken boards and panels replaced; leaning sections braced or rebuilt.
Sagging gates re-hung, braced and fitted with new latches and hinges.
Old caulk removed and new beads run around tubs, showers, windows and trim.
Worn door and window seals replaced so drafts and water stay out.

Most deck and fence damage starts small: one board that’s gone soft, one post rotting at ground level, one panel that the wind has pushed out of line. Fixing that early is quick. Left for another winter, the rot spreads to the joists or the next posts and the repair grows.
We probe boards and posts with an awl to find soft wood, replace what’s damaged with matching cedar or pressure-treated lumber, and use exterior-rated screws and hardware. If the structure under a deck looks unsafe, we’ll tell you plainly, and say when it needs more than a handyman repair.
What we look at when we’re outside, and when it’s worth booking.

Caulk keeps water where it belongs. Around a tub or shower, a cracked bead lets water into the wall behind. Around exterior trim and windows, it lets rain into the framing. We cut out the old caulk completely, clean and dry the joint, and run a new bead of the right product for the job.
Worn weatherstripping on exterior doors means drafts, higher heating bills and water at the threshold in a storm. Replacing it is one of the cheapest upgrades you can make before winter.

FAQ
Our focus is repairs: boards, railings, steps, posts, panels and gates. A full new deck or a long new fence line is a bigger project; ask and we’ll tell you honestly whether it suits a handyman visit.
We match the species and size as closely as we can. New boards will look lighter at first and weather to a closer match over time, or we can stain them.
That depends on your property line and any agreement with your neighbour. Many people split the cost of a shared fence repair. We’re happy to work with both of you.
Our focus is repairs, so we don’t offer gutter cleaning or pressure washing as standalone services.
